Overspray is a mist of fine liquid particles, a jet of such particles, as from a spray gun (a device that shoots out a spray of liquid, as paint or insecticide) or spray can (a can from which gas under pressure sprays out the contents) consisting of a paint mixture used as a covering or coloring to a surface; a dried coat of paint. Paint can be epoxies, enamel or latex base paints, cement or chemicals, tar, polyurethane foam, pesticides/fertilizer materials, etc…

Paint in the hands of a painter (one whose work is covering walls, etc. with paint) painting a high structure such as a water tower, office building, bridge, etc… and wind carries paint spray onto a parking lot where it sticks to vehicles, machinery, buildings, etc… paint finish, glass, chrome, rubber trim and molding pieces, thus creating a liability problem called a overspray damage loss.

Overspray damage can be any paint or foreign substance that is windblown, driven through, graffiti, etc… and remain active until connecting and sticking to a surface.
